One account for Pro blocks, CLI access and your licence. The free catalog never needs one.

Sign-in is not configured yet

This deployment has no GitHub OAuth client, so there is nothing to send you to. The free catalog is unaffected — it is a public registry and needs no account:

npx shadcn@latest add @forme/button

Forme sees your email address, your display name and your GitHub login. Nothing else, and it is not stored beyond what your licence needs.

How the CLI uses this

  1. 1

    You run the command

The CLI opens a local server on a random port, prints a URL, and waits. It prints the port rather than appearing to hang.
    npx forme login
  2. 2

    You approve it here

The page above is where the approval happens. GitHub signs you in, and the callback issues a single-use code that goes straight back to your terminal. Nothing is granted silently.
  3. 3

    The CLI keeps a token

The code is exchanged for a token that lives in your user config directory — never in the repository, so there is no .env to commit and nothing in your build a deploy could leak.
    npx forme whoami

npx forme logout forgets it on this machine immediately.
